SciFi and Fantasy Art: Saving the Prince

A moment of high drama in Hans Christian Andersen's 'the Little Mermaid'. I think this scene gets illustrated a lot. Done in a different style than my other Little Mermaid picture, in acrylics and micron pen on watercolour paper. I wish I'd managed to show her tail in this one, but it didn't look right to make the water transparent. I'm not quite so fond of this picture, but I really need more stuff in this gallery, so up it goes.

(acrylics and pen, 2004)

wow! this is beeeeutiful! I've always loved the story about the little mermaid, well, not the Disney version of the tale. You have such skills. Love the colors and the contrast between their bodies and the sea. It looks really stormy, as it should.
I'm happy that you decided to add it to your gallery and what ever you do, don't take it away.
more pictures like his one please 2

this is a beautiful picture whether you like it or not >__< i love the way you showed how frightened she was and how the prince's (i forgot his name) hair just flows into the water. It gives a nice effect! Very good job on this ^__^

For some reason your art reminds me of the artist Herbert Draper. I really like your stuff.

Wow...what a moment you've captured. It's very powerful. I feel as if it could begin to move at any moment.

Nice Pic! Her terrified expression seems more natural than most takes on this scene! Excellent work!

This is a fantastic picture... her expression is marvellous... it's a brilliant cross between fright ant excitement. You should be very proud of this.
