SciFi and Fantasy Art: TraumaOne of my characters, Trauma Dougless, whose hair I have envied since I created her. This drawing was actually rather speedily constructed with no plan or forethought into what it was going to be. So, I'm surprised it came out so well. I'm a little disappointed with her face but her hair can't be beat.

The only thing that sorta doesn't sit right is that her body seems a little too small for the head. This is something easily overlooked due to the picture being so great, though.
| 16 Nov 2002 | Emi | She reminds me of Mana!(If you don`t know who that is, e-mail me, you won`t regret it.) I too love her hair. ::cling::

| 28 Jun 2003 | Stacey 'Midnight' Twiggs | I have fallen in love with this picture. It is great! I love her hair, her clothes, the coloring, her expression. Wow | |
| 6 Nov 2003 | Leonor A. F. gomes | I think her face is gorgeous, cartoony with a touch of realism - escapes from the manga style, which is becoming repetitive. I love the hair, the colours, the texture and softness of your strokes. And btw, you can paint your hair like that, they probably would do it for you in a salon. Sidian Mehli replies: "Ehe... I had my hair similar for a while. Well, all sorts of colours. One of my favourites (but hardest to maintain) was black in the back with lovely pointy bangs that faded across from magenta to purple to blue to teal. I plan on getting married with it looking much like this... Lots of purple and aqua. And a purple corset, and big froofy black skirt with peacock feathers on the bottom. Yay!" | |
| 19 Mar 2004 | Rae <raven_ofthe_night@hot...com< | I wish I looked just like her! The colouring is amazing, and her EYES! Your art is amoungst the best I have seen on Elfwood. Go You! Sorry, Random Outburst... | |
| 29 Jun 2004 | Darchala Chaoswind | *purr* Lovely colours in her hair, and I'm in love with her nose. You actually can do that curlicue-thing that she has, but you have to use fake hair (which can be attached to your own easily enough...). Apparently, it's done by winding the synth hair around something like a pencil or a similar thing, and holding it in hot steam for a little while. The heat makes it keep that shape even after you take it off the 'mould'. Sidian Mehli replies: "*noddle* I've done something similar, when I was obsessed with having my hair just like this. I also discovered the wonders of fishtank tubing, which can be dyed (and comes in colours, or something similar to it does, at the hardware store) or you can use it clear and run lengths of fake hair through it.Unfortunately, the Corporate Overlords have dictated that I can't do many of the fun things I would like to do with my body." | |
| 2 Jul 2004 | Darchala Chaoswind | Actually, the hair I was thinking of was plastic lacing (plastic-honey.net has some interesting tutorials), and boiling water. Corporate overlords suck. | |
| 19 Oct 2004 | Bri-B | Oh...my...god!! I love the hair! And everything about it!! The face is good too! Man, I wish I could look like her. She looks like a goddess. | |
| 10 Dec 2004 | Jeanette O'Brien | I'm in awe of your color work. Its the highlights, i think, perfectly placed highlights and bright pretty colors. Also those curly-q thingies are just too cool. | |
| 23 Nov 2006 | Kristin A. Erickson | The hair is amazing... Wow. | |
