SciFi and Fantasy Art: Can I, Momma? Pwease?? <original, pencil edition>

Soilgheas, meaning 'wind' in Gaelic, sits patiently watching her daughter, Aile, meaning, 'air' in Gaelic. Aile wants something, and she's putting on all her cuteness in an attempt to get it! Every once child can identify with that, especially me. This pencil picture started out as a quick sketch between college classes, and swiftly turned into a full blown art project, total time= 1 hr, 45 mins.

10 Oct 2000	Foxy <the artist>	Loading... <grins appreciatively> Thank you. And yes, I do speak a very tiny bit of it. That is to say, I know what the words mean. The picture actually started with the baby gryphon and ended with the mother and nest being added. And I wish I could take the baby home too... but she's unfortunately not quite a dog. I'm not sure my parents would appreciate a gryph babe.

15 Aug 2001	Vaia <vaia_nyera@hot...com>	Loading... Adorable, I like the sketch better than the colored one, just because you can see things clearer. Gryphons are so very wonderful, but with thos beaks and talons winces well...lets just be glad that they're in a peacefull mood right now.
