SciFi and Fantasy Art: Lycanthrope females study

Pencil on scraps of paper, cut and pasted together in Photoshop. These are studies for some of the females for the 'Lycanthrope's Ball' picture I am planning. The females are supposed to be reacting to the human with shock and fear. The studies were done largely to try to pick clothes for the were-creatures; it seems like I want to pick clothes that accentuate tufts of hair, muzzle shape, ear shape, or other characteristics of the were-creature. I think I still have a problem with them looking like characters froma children's book. And based on these drawings, I think it may be best to avoid doing a swanmay (were-swan). Any advice will be appreciated.

As a fan of the myth of Lycanthropy, and study of preternatural creatures. I am very disappointed in this drawing. The Lycanthrope is a being of half animal and human. Not of ducks wearing dresses. I held high hopes of findig true art of lycanthropes but again am left disappointed.

Why do lycanthropes need costumes? Their fur covers their entire body. Why not, instead of full costumes, just add items that would accent the were-creature form?

A swanmay ISN'T a wereswan, I'd jsut like to point that out to you. A Swanmay is a human female that was granted the gift of becomming a sman, not a wereswan, at will.

Though I agree, stay away from birds 2

You bats and the rest don't look too bad.

And I agree with the termLycanthropes. Anyone who doesn't know the term Lycanthropes that is reviewing these needs to get a life.

i dont mean to put anyone down, especialy not the artist, but you are all wrong. a lycanthrope is a person with a mental illness were they believe they are wolves or other carivores, in ficton licanthropes are were-wolves, also in french loup-garou, this is people who under a lunar cycle turn into wolves, NOT inbetween. many mixups and anyone can change it to sute him or her but those are the origional ideas. ps. artist, develop those characters and put a complete work on this galary and youll get nicer notes.

Marty, you are a jerk. You also know nothing of Lycanthropy... Which is more commonly known as Therianthropy. A therianthrope is a human with the spirit of an animal. A true therianthrope has attributes of the animal. Me personally, I am a therianthrope, a panther. I can shape shift my mind. For instance if i choose to shapeshift into a cheetah, I can move really fast. Also, my teeth from the incisors through the molars are all fanged. I also can walk on all fours (not on hands and knees, but on the hands and the balls of the feet). I also have a very protective and powerful attitude of a panther. You think you know, but you have NO idea!

Panther, Lycanthropy is not therianthropy, you stupid git.
Lycanthropy is one of two things. First, some one who believes they are a wolf due to mental illness. And second the act of transformation during the lunar cycle to a primal lupine form. and i would suggest not mentioning your lets say abilities to a lot of people. Any one can shape shift their mind. It just takes concentration. And besides this site i about lycanthropes not your twisted illusions.

Personally, I think you're all wrong, a lycanthrope on here can be a whatever the artist wants it to be. This is an art site, not explain the meaning of this word site. Any word that inspires an artist to drew should be used in whatever way the artist chooses.

Personally, I think all this picture needs is a little more detail. Stay away from birds, it's hard to do expressions on their faces and I don't think you're all that good at doing them, however I think that the Bats are fantastic.
