SciFi and Fantasy Art: GnomeWell in my quest for a bit of action in a picture, and the long-term blackmailing of the guy who requested this picture, I gladly present: 'The gnome who disarmes an orc hurling a handaxe using a magic ray while skillfully avoiding the aforementioned blade and a loose arrow while preparing a new spell'. Which would have made for a rather long title: hence the short one above. I could bore you with the complete description of the character, but my guess is that rightful owner will soon comment, so you can ask HIM everything you want to know. | |

 | | | | | Date | Name | Comment | | | 15 Nov 2001 | Hein | You do realise, the Orc is getting a nice bonus, attacking a sitting gnome in the back (+4? for back attack, she's losing her dex bonus (since she is casting a spell), and get's an attack of oppurtunity (in third edition) for casting while fighting (short range, only 5-foot away) and since her armor (spell failure isn't her best feature I assume?) is none, the Orc's attack must either be a total failure (say 2 since he ain't falling) or he isn't proficient in throwing axe's (what orc would do that?), for the rest the picture's graphics are very very fine, keep up the good work, I'll do the thinking part ok? | |
| 26 Nov 2001 | Victor | First of all, she is a he and as a spellsword you get less arcane spellfailure. Beside the only armor he's got is magical. This gnome is the sole survivor of an ambush by orc's and owlbears. He is currently killing as much kobolds as he can in some kobold empire in the world of my dm. P.S. Hein hij heeft een sik | |

| 12 Mar 2003 | Jack Spades | The gnome isn't sitting he's obviously dodgeing the thrown axe, so he probably has very good dex. Also, because the orc in question is moving into the gnomes threat area, I do believe that the gnome would get the attack of opportunity. | |
| 2 May 2003 | Andrew | I believe the Gnome in this picture is probably a Sorceror/Monk/Rogue or some combination thereof. He is casting a spell on the fly (distinctive of a Sorceror), and is probably casting with the Still Spell feat (no Arcane Spell Failure Chance from casting in armour), has the Combat Casting feat too (no Penalty for casting within Threat Range of opponent), has the Uncanny Dodge feat (Not losing Dexterity to Armour Class), and also has the Deflect Arrows feat (distinctively Monk). Moreover, the armour and weapon proficiencies look distinctively Rogue. | |
| 10 May 2003 | Victor | to all people who think they know this character: he is just a simple fighter/sorcerer with the spellsword prestige class(see the tome and blood)he does NOT have all those feats listed above except the combat casting (with is only a +4 bonus to concentration with our rules). furthermore it is quite logical to have a few magical items if you are level ten. A challenge rating 10 can easily defeat a challenge rating 1 so what is the power gaming in this? and a question for you: what is more cool, your character in a cool position, or let we say let's draw him while he is having a shit and for glyolis. you remind me of bush junior, who throws bombs, then throws some more and then he still shows no sign of intelligence and the ability to reason | |
| 17 Sep 2003 | Gelfin | Wooooooo, Munchkins all of ya, Monty Haul would have a field day with yawl. Roleplay vs. rollplay, Huh! Cool pic, best gnome I've found on Elfwood so far, so don't sweat it man, you're a Winner! | |
