SciFi and Fantasy Art: One Ring II

One of the 'unfinished pictures' gets a facelift... The Ring as it might have been displayed on the mantlepiece. Of course, the letters wouldn't normally be seen, but maybe Gandalf just put it back (and was thorough enough to replace the cover, too --- nice guy, that wizard, eh?)

Bracelet or ring? The scale was hard to play with on this one. Ring too thin and writing impossible to see; ring to thick and looks more like an arm band! But looking at the candles I have to agree that the proportions could use some work....

This is a great picture. I wonder how the lettering is visible? In the book you need to heat up the ring to see the lettering. Otherwise it looks like a plain gold band. What software did you use for this?

Aaron...Skip mentioned that the letters wouldn't normally be visible however, we do not know what had happened to the ring just prior to the time frame that this picture captures. It could have just been heated by someone (Gandalf, Bilbo if he did figure out what heat would do to it)

As for the size of the ring vs. the candles, It is possible that the candles are thin ones like the ones that I have throughout my room. I have one candle that I keep my rings on when I go to sleep. That being said, the proportions could be fine, its all perspective.

This is n amazing picture and I find it hard to think that it has not received mod's choice yet. Keep up the great work.
