SciFi and Fantasy Art: Bar Flies

I was simply overjoyed when I got a bunch of oil paints for my birthday (I could never afford them otherwise!), and I started playing around with them to get the hang of 'em. This is my very first oil painting and I am terribly proud of it. The scanner did NOT do it justice, though. The actual one on canvas is much nicer. And I like the subject, too, having a nice country western theme with a fantasy twist. The character here just bought a vacant building with her little pet dragon and is going to turn it into a wild saloon for this sleepy town. I wasn't sure if i wanted to put this is my Loth or my Zone galery. It doesn't really fit into either, and, since my Loth has no more room, i'm putting it here.

It's a Mutual Agrement: Paint doesn't do what I want and in turn I hate it. Usually, paint and i don't agree, but Oils and I have made a very pleasant and surprising partnership. ^_^

20 Mar 2003	Samael	Loading... Ah, I do love this one. The original especially, as the scanner gives it a wrinkled texture. I can't really describe it, but there's nothing I can suggest to improve it, except maybe the background. The woman just has some sort of quality to her expression, I just can't name it...
