SciFi and Fantasy Art: Estialog Emerson (unfished!)

Debatably my best drawing yet! I'm very upset about the poor scan, though, but i'll get over it. This is Estialog Emerson, Tayahyla's teacher in the Majani arts. For a background, i have planned a poem about the Tayahyla's extreme attempts to seduce him and how hard it is for him to resist.

A very nice face. I really like the wrinkles; they look quite realistic. I can't wait to see it with the poem!

It's me, again... And again, I comprehend! I love it! His wrinkles show age, and yet, if you try to remove those with your eyes, he's rather young. And his eyelids, droop, in a manner that clearly states (to me) that he doesn't want to see the world, and everything around him. Together, this tells me he is a young man, who is withered, and about to give up on going any further... Great job! *ees dazzled* you can tell all that? ohmigosh...! You've summed up Estilog more perfectly than I have ever been able to!! Gaw....good job! I can't believe you can tell THAT much of Estialog from just this little picture...

I love it...he looks like he's looking at someone almost bitterly but with remorse...I really like it. I'm trying to get down how to do aging work and this will be a VERY helpful example. I like the way his cloak comes up about his neck. Great shade work too. I don't know if you do sculpture work, but have you every considered making this picture into a bust of Estialog? I've always wanted to try sculpture work, and, if i ever get enough money to buy the resources, perhaps i will make an estialog bust (or at least attempt one!). Good idea!

ooo, ok I'll add my own interpretation... to me that look on his face says that he's absolutely exhausted, body, mind, and soul. He's been pushed to the edge and if one more thing happens he's either going to cave in or explode (heh, been there, done that) poor guy. someone give him a cookie. (or maybe a cute, fuzzy yop to cheer him up?) 2 Also an accurate description. I mean, you can't blame him, what with everything going wrong in his life, even at his old age, and just about everything Tayahyla puts him through....

Nice details and expression... such a thick moustache! The cowl of that hook seems a little too large, like the cloak itself is starched open and two sizes too big for him. His eyes have so much age to them, even without the lines of his face...

Ya know.....this picture looks strangly like Mr. Burk to me, and the fact that he is a teacher....kinda makes me wonder about you :-P

Very nice as usual though
