| Megan is an aspiring artist, if you can even call her that. But hey, everyone has their little illusions, right? And never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and good with ketchup.

Look there's me, cover your eyes, or you'll turn to stone, quick!!! Ok, now that I've had my low self-esteem moment. I'm 24 now, dating the perfect man (and he'll tell you that too, heheh), I'm in college sorta, studying to be a graphic designer, since my parents forbid me to do fine arts. That's it for the most part, I think. Oh,yeah the whole reasons behind the art stuff, I knew that. Ahem, I suppose fantasy art was an accident waiting to happen for me. It started when my Grammy gave me my first My Little Pony when I was two. I still have her, a cute little plump unicorn. From there on it all when downhill I suppose you could say. I spent most of my childhood surrounded by My Little Ponies, never Barbie, I hated Barbie. All the TV I ever watched was She-Ra and Thundercats. My favorite movies were Labyrinth, Dark Crystal (people tell me I look like a Gelfling, that or an anime character), Legend and the Last Unicorn. I started to draw young, always horses, with the occasional horn or pair of wings added. I started to live in my own little fantasy world that everyone criticized, but really, what's wrong with that? Besides, it much more fun to think of knights and dragons than politics, or boy bands and all that other fluff that the girls of my age were interested in. But what I really think finally cinched the whole thing was when my Dad made me read the Lord of the Rings. I remember how much I argued with him about it before I finally broke down. Now I guess I owe him a great deal. After the Lord of the Rings, other series soon followed. I read all of David Eddings books, the Dragons of Pern, and so many others. And now I may also add to the list the Harry Potter books, the Sword of Truth, and all the Xanth novels, plus the Wheel of Time. For several years I haven't been doing much art, I was in a bad, abusive relationship and inspiration just didn't come so to speak. Now I'm with someone who not only tolerates my artistic tendencies, he encourages them, support is a beautiful thing, I owe him a great deal, he'll deny that of course. Well thats all there really is to me, not so very complicated is it? And one more thing. . .*points at the comment box* MAKE COMMENTS, I NEED COMMENTS!!!! Don't be shy, I promise I won't bite, at least not much

| 19 Jan 2008 | AlpineBob | Yeah, you’ve read some good stuff, but when it comes to fantasy, Everyone should read: The Deed of Paksenarrion by Elizabeth Moon. It is a trilogy; the first book is Sheepfarmer’s Daughter. I just read the series again last weekend and I still get teary-eyed in places.
