SciFi and Fantasy Art: Anubis and LokiIt's not common knowledge that Anubis, the Egyptian god of death, and Loki, that Nordic troublemaker, are drinking buddies. In Anubis's off hours, he meets his pal at a little tavern inside a world that belongs to neither the Norse or Egyptian pantheons (Loki, of course, is never 'working' himself). They throw back a few brews while trading one-liners and hassling the mortals.
Here, however, Anubis has found himself forced to dress up in his 'official' attire and approach the gods of this other world to ensure the safety of his favorite drinking establishment. Loki comes along, of course, but Anubis encourages him to keep quiet by jabbing his staff into the trickster's foot.
Anubis later insisted that this was an accident, but Loki will get him back, you better believe it.
A happy little ball-point pen piece I did on my lunch hour. Props to Tara K Labus, as usual, for her interpretation of Loki. :)
| | | | | Date | Name | Comment | | | 15 Jan 2004 | Kyrissean aka Russian Dragon | I can only imagine. Ra: What was that, Loki? Loki: Well, I just thought...ARGH! What a cute and original concept...I'll bet Anubis could use a break now and then, what with leading dead people around all day. | |
| 26 Jan 2004 | Arachnae | Your Loki looks more like Coyote (Nuwisha). Excellent and I am certainly not critising in ANY way. Wonderful job!! | |
| 27 Jan 2004 | Hobbit | Yeah he kind of does Look Like Coyote, if you've read Summerlands they say Loki and Coyote, along with Satan are all the same people but than again they also say he nearly destroyed the world and was only stopped because he lost in baseball. BTW the picture sis awsome, I had no idea anybody could do THAT well in pen, you must be some artist. I love Loki's outfit it's so Terribly Loki. Like you toatly see morbid evil genius in Anubus and mischeifious, fun loving, changer in Loki. | |

| 13 Mar 2004 | Viking | Love the picture. I read Neal Gaiman's 'American gods' not so long ago. But I wonder. Can you draw horses? Nobody has made a picture of Loke and his son yet. And you wonder what that has to do with horses? Now you can guess who the mother of Sleipner is. If you say Loke your right, and you can believe me. I'm Norwegian.
It would have been a strange scene. Mother and son, Loke and Sleipner. Do they need counseling, you think? Yup, I knew about the Loki horse tryst. I learned it out of the Rifts RPG books, honestly. PLAY AND LEARN!
