SciFi and Fantasy Art: Anubis, off duty

I can hear it now: 'Hey man! What's with all these pictures of Anubis wearing shorts and sneakers? Anubis isn't supposed to do that!'

Regarding this, here are a few words from Anubis himself: 'DEAL WITH IT, PINK BOY!'

Anubis has often been a misunderstood god. In a lot of fiction, he is typically associated with evil because of his connection with death. I've expanded on the fact that he was not a negative force in the religious beliefs of ancient Egyptians and created a character who is good-natured and compassionate, witty and friendly to a fault when he isn't working. He loves people and he loves life, which is why he goes to such lengths to preserve it.

Off duty in his free time, Anubis likes to change into something 'casual' and sneak a few beers while Ra isn't looking. Because of his fascination with modern day Earth (he LOVES The Mummy movies), he often ends up getting in trouble with the other gods of his realm...

That's funny, I was just talking to Anubis on the phone earlier today and he told me that the spiritual DNA tests were quite negative, therefore your claim is forfeit.He also said something about the Kemetic Orthodox faith being a bunch of derivative bullcrap invented in the 1980s, but by that point he was kinda yelling and hard to understand and I don't think he likes you very much.

I love Anubis, he's one of my favourite Egyptian gods and I'm glad that you depict him in a more positive light. I can't count the number of times i've come across the evil Anubis senario, heh. ^_^ Anyway, this is great...keep it up. Cheers.

13 Jul 2005	Egypt Nerd	Loading... Clever, never really thought of Anubis as evil meself, but the idea of him being so futuristic(at least from the point of view of Egypt's glory days) is pretty cool. Want to hear more =)
