SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Clockwork Fiend

It is said that the legend of the Arotrin inspired an ambitious wizard to build himself his own version of the fell beast. Sadly, he had neither the resources, or the skill necessary to construct an exact replica. So, he improvised. And his version was then quickly dismantled by an elven werewolf.

This guy is frickin bad! I truly like this! I want to see it colored!!! Very well drawn. Good proportions amd I love the pose. One of your better creations in my opinion.
Your world of monsters must really be getting huge by now! As a matter of fact, I bet you almost have as many monsters as there are Pokemon or Digimon! Only your monsters are meaner!!!

Wow, can I have him to sit on my mantle..even if he is in bits! Hey Stanton, colour this, I think it would look awesome! ^_^
12 Oct 2001:-)
That's right, a new 'monster companion' thing...Except, Stanton's beasts spill blood and chew flesh and crunch bone and spill intestinal tracts like never before. I think? Well, you'd get that idea by looking at some of them.
I'm drawing a bunch of monsters during school... There's a really ugly one named Fiegmund I think you'd like. (See, it's my name now. Nyaaa!)

Heeeeyyy, I just remembered from reading Mr.Tofu's message! The wheel things remind me of those cogs in Digimon!!! Is it kinda' metallic in places? See.... there IS a major disadvantage in not colouring your beasties all the time, because sometimes the textures and stuff aren't very clear with just black and white line art! Oo-... but I'm not supposed to pester you about tha-...... GAMERA!!!! GAAAAAAA-ME-RA!!!!! *quietly dances the dance of distant dancing Gamera relatives* Ga-me.... ga...................... (sorry...)Don't worry... It will be colored, eventually.

Wait...waaaaiit...that could be very cool. I would definitely play a game with creatures like these that are barely under control and maul each other in epic battles for control of the planet. Kick the gore-filled attack descriptions up a notch or ten, and you'd have a cool game!

Of course...with lightweights like this one (in comparison with other beasts), maybe that's not such a good idea.

I like this one, though it's a shame it got itself dismantled. I like your sense of balance, it makes your creatures easy to look at (easy to follow with the eye, and not done in a clashing manner).

:21tifles his fourth yawn::

Okay...I'm going to sleep, but I'll keep going later today at work. See you soon.

The pose and clockwork part about this creature only screams one thing to me... Atma Weapon. The one front claw out, and the tail arched that way- ARGH, it's ATMA (from Final Fantasy 3 [or 6 if you prefer])Of course... The Atma Weapon was one of my favorite bosses from Final Fantasy 6.

Mortals and their neverending quest to compare and categorize. It's cute, really.

:-) Stanton F. Fink replies: "Isn't it? Almost as cute as when I used to keep bunnies in my backyard."

I think he'd look even better with the mechanical bits in bronze or copper, and the flesh either a really dark purply color, the kind that you get when you mix 1/3white to 1/3red and 1/3black in paints, or perhaps a really gnarly yellowy-gray.

Hey wow, the detail is amazing, great work ^_^
