SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Dragon Child

This picture is dedicated to Yerin Yoo (gallery 117), partly because she gave me the inspriation for it, and mainly because she is such an uplifting person that has the extraordinary gift of making me give off *big smiles*. The Dragon King solemnly watches over and protects the strange eggs that he has been entrusted with, and he is filled with an unfamiliar sense of surprise when he sees the first egg hatch to reveal a creature that reminds him of those horrible, enslaving dragonkilling Humans. At first he is filled with rage, but when he looks into the creature's eyes, he sees a kinship that cannot be ignored. The creature is special, no doubt, and his hearts fill with a blazing warmth when he begin to suspect that these eggs contain the long awaited salvation for every living creature on the planet. A new age has begun.

This is very nice... I like the overall concept. The incorporation of the dragon is nicely done though there really doesn't seem to be a sense of attachement between the two. The shading is excellenet as well.

Congratulations! You've produced the one and only picture of a dragon face-on that I've actually *liked!* (And believe me, I've seen plenty of dragon pictures!)
