SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Awful Necessity of Departure

Woah. It has been a while since I posted a picture here. An artist's block, I suppose. Hope you like this one... The Lord's personal dragon has reached the Age of Freedom. He now needs to leave for the Holy Land, and teach the young dragons about the way of Humans. The Lord's daughter who always had her friend in this dragon is naturally sad that this day has come. Although the dragon's blood burns with the prospect of freedom, he also feels the sadness. After all, she has the mind of a dragon... and he has come to think of her as one of his Own.

Pencil Sketching at its BEST!

I have to agree...your pencil skills are very refined. I do believe that the dragons neck and head should have been bent to show a sense of affection towards her as well. This subtle move would have added another dimension to the drawing. As it sits, the dragon's head draws my eyes upward so drastically that I almost missed the delicacy of her embrace. .....Just a thought for you to consider.

To me, the dragon's head is perfect. It's like he's looking up asking whatever deity dragons believe in "Why? Why must I leave?!"

Very nicely done, Stefan.

This is my favorite dragon/woman image of all time. The emotion and feeling conveyed in his face is brilliant...I cannot even describe it in words. I am truly in awe.
