SciFi and Fantasy Art: Iymbryl

(01/08/02) Even if it doesn’t look like it, it IS possible to pronounce that name. ;-) I had a hell of a time with the armor and the mace – drawing metal is a curse! Fortunately this time my scanner didn’t mess up all the details and the black widow on the sword is still visible. I again felt the urge to draw a face with black skin some time ago, it’s challenging to work sort of the other way round with the shading... and quite a short time later a character appeared in my mind to whom the face fit, so I did all the rest as well. Iymbryl Sashentas is a fighter/cleric (of Selvetarm, Drow god of warriors) and, apart from his facial expression, not evil. Just chaotic neutral and a bit mad, but then, if one can believe the rumors, so am I sometimes. Shit happens.

I think this drow is very good. I also happen to love the race but this is very well done. He looks so determined! So fierce! Drow always get my blood going. hehe

"Determined"... that puts it nicely, he surely is. And happy when he gets something he can fight (almost the only thing he's REALLY good at, apart from getting on the nerves of people...). ;-)

I think I know how to pronounce it: 'im-bril'? Is that right? Anyway, Coooooooool picture. He looks.... determined. *gets poked by sword* Ok, He looks.... fierce. *gets poked again* Hey! *runs away from poky sword* Leave off you drow! Evil! Go away! AAAAAHHHHHHHH!

Your suggestion comes quite close, in fact it's something like (phonetics has been a long time ago, I fear...) "ee-yem-bril", stress on second syllable. Oh, Iymbryl wants to say something.
*puts away sword and extends hand with a rather sheepish grin* Hey, lady, come back, I was just kidding...

The torso seems alittle short and strange in this one, some times forsight shortenings dont' show right. But you gotta love being able to use the white colored pencil!

I DO love that thing - although it always gets my desk more dirty than powdered chalk. Concerning the torso I agree. But if there's one thing about coloured pencils I'd prefer to be different it's the fact that you can't erase them.
