SciFi and Fantasy Art: VDA: Ulrich von Hagenau

(15/10/04) Have you ever tried drawing a laughing person? Before this, I never did. And I would not have expected it to be so difficult to get the wrinkles right (which, in fact, they are not. At least not down to the last detail). But thanks to a photograph of a laughing Tom Cruise it worked out better than I had feared. *g* Coloured pencils and watercolour pencils

Indeed laughing people are so hard to draw. Most of my people are pretty expressionless..I love the hat, I can almost feel it.. =strokes computer screen=

Your comment on the hat is quite reassuring... I tried for some time to find a picture to use as a model, but coudn't find one that suited me. So I had to experiment again - which seems to have worked. Sleep will come much easier now.
