Ah, time to alter this bio again; another couple of years gone, another few changes in life. As always, it's long, as I've only changed a few details.
To begin with
I've been hanging around Elfwood since the year of its creation, but joined up in late 1999. Most (read almost ALL) of my pictures are from '99 to '01, though I'm beginning to draw again. I haven't exactly strayed from fantasy art, but I've found myself rather busy for the past couple of years. This means that except in actual art class (of which I've only had a couple), I haven't been drawing much in general, and any art that comes out of those will be class assignments rather than fantasy or fan art. For my progression in the last year or so, visit my galleries elsewhere:
Hmm... About me... Well, I am twenty four years of age, currently employed by a well-known video game company. Though if I told you any more, I'd have to kill you. I'm currently attached to a wonderful man, with whom I'm expecting a child in February, 2008.
I've been all over the place, and have bounced from community college to four year, back to community, and spent some time looking for further direction. It's all been rather complicated, and the story behind my changes is long and personal. So... I won't dive into it here. Suffice it to say, I'm just doggypaddling through life like everyone else. I'm bouncing somewhere between heading into the acting world for real and committing myself to school. Or both. Heh. I love ancient history, particularly Egypt and Greece. I love art. I love literature. I love everything but math. Heh.
I grew up in Southern California, smack in the middle of Orange County. I suppose the stifling surfer-Republican atmosphere is what drove me away to the exact opposite end of the spectrum for a couple of years: liberal Vermont, at the wonderful Marlboro College. However, I am back in CA, so yes. More variety, more opportunities.
Apart from immersing myself in history and mythology, I've dabbledin theatre since I was eight.
I've also always thought of myself as quite a geek; so did my peers, judging by the torment I received at their hands in my elementary and middle schools. However, despite these bullies, I always had at least one good friend, as well as my family, to ease my battered heart. I grew up with a voracious love of books-- particularly those related to history or mythology (whether they be fiction or textbooks). The most serious punishment my parents could inflict upon me as a child was to take away my books. Of course, I was a sneaky little brat, so I hid a few (just in case).
My entertainment tastes vary and fluctuate. Music-wise, I'm fond of classic rock (i.e. The Beatles, David Bowie), classical, Celtic, folk music, world music, and various others (Nick Drake, Tori Amos). However, I'm generally willing to try out any music that I have not yet heard. The only categories that I tend to have a universal dislike of are bubblegum pop, rap, and country. In terms of movies, I have far too many loves to list here. Let's just say that I love Monty Python, fantasy, sci-fi, and comedy. For some reason I also seem to have a penchant for twisted dramas (i.e. Quills, Titus, The Libertine)... Let's see... Television... I don't watch very much of it , but when I do I prefer comedies such as The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, The Simpsons, That 70's Show, as well as documentaries, House, Bones, Grey's Anatomy, and my guilty pleasures: Xena: Warrior Princess, Firefly, and Star Trek (TOS, TNG, DS:9).
Recently I've become addicted to a little game called World of Warcraft. I've got so many characters I don't know what to do with them. hehe. It's seriously a game that one can become sucked into. Love it.
I'm not even going to try to list all of my books. The last time I counted was when I was 11. There were 500 at that point. Just think fantasy, mythology, history, historical fiction, classical literature, and sexual therapy texts (I'm very interested in human sexuality and its diversity from person to person).
Last little bit:
I suppose some people would think that I'm a boring person-- I prefer to read, watch movies, play around online, play video games, and take walks than to party or get wild. I only occasionally drink, never smoke, never do drugs. I socialize, I laugh, and I enjoy life as is.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy my fantasy art and my FanQuarter gallery. Hopefully I will be able to bring myself further into real, conceptualized art as the year progresses. I hope to turn out something decent for once. heh.
Your art really captures the uniqueness of an individual. Everything is in proportion and pefectly colored and shaded. Excellent work.

wow Stefanie! your gallery is fabulous! GLad to know there are more Monty Python fans out there (SPAM!)Keep drawing, you have an amazing talent that cannot be let go!!!! LOL Dont worry, you're not boring, I am exactly the same. I love to read, watch movies, listen to music and draw rather than go out and get stoned/drunk/whatever. Always remember you are unique and one day you shall rise up and take over the world with the Knights of NI! Sorry, had to be silly there! ^_^ Have fun with your art!!
Hi Stephanie, It was great that I came upon your corner at SF&F Art, since your pictures are really nice. What you draw is interesting, as well as the way you draw it. Believe me or not, but your picture "Waiting" is very much alike a picture I drew a year ago ("Waiting on the Shore") and I think that, though the scene is different, the feelings and the idea are one and the same. I like your style of both drawing and living. Don't you dare to think you are boring - and if you are, it would simply mean that we both are boring, but only in the thoughts of people whose oppinion shouldn't be of any importance to us. It would be great to have some chat with you so if you like you can email me at rebel_raven8@yahoo.com

You have some darn good artwork (I like how your Earth elemental is more of a plant than just made of rock or dirt). Wish we could meet, you sound like just the kind of person I like (yeah Firefly!). P.S. why did you go back to CA? Vermont can be....nice...kind of
Stephanie -- I'm an author (see web site) and would love to ask you something. Could you email me privately at the address I've entered? Thanks. Anjali
