SciFi and Fantasy Art: Shade of Winter

A winter spirit representing ice.
I wanted to a picture for each of the seasons. Now its too cold to think about doing spring or summer, maybe I'll do autumn soon.
This one is one of my few pastels. I don't use them much but I like the shadings that can be done with it.

The blue colour is lovely and the face looks a bit Japanesy ^_^ BTW, I THINK the 3 Chinese characters mean somthing like 'the one who picks up stools'(I'm not very good at translating, but I think it's pronounced as Tiao Deng De???) May be wrong cos I can't see it very clearly from the scanning....
4 Nov 2002	Eugene Randolph Young	Loading... I love the design in this one. I'm wondering if the piece blowing in the wind coul be more horizontal. Personally I think an even lighter of color treatment in the figure would have worked better here. Still, a strong design.
