| 2 Mar 2002 | John (Hui) Li | OoooOOoooohhh, see I thought when you said you weren't happy with this one, that you meant you weren't happy with the kirin because it was so dark(?)... "My bad" as the kids say. Hey, you -like- cross-hatching? That's just gross. Hm, well, I suppose it wasn't so bad to do... but it takes sooo long. I like the pose as well. You really should do the kirin book. I bet it'd be more interesting than the silly fairy books available now. | |

First comment of your new Kirin!
It's groovey! I esp like that it's a dark gray tone from all your cross hatching.
Also the angle the horse is moving at, it's a very dynamic pose.
Overall girly, I give you an A! | |
| 15 Dec 2002 | M.Pena | Wow!It is tricky to render a rounded animal, while concentrating on all those individual scales! Here's some anatomical trivia; The front "knees" of a horse are box shaped, with three sets of bumps visible when the horse's leg is flexed:the topmost bump is the bottom end of the radius, the next bump is the first row of carpals, then there is another row of carpals attached to the bone of the lower leg, making a third bump.I love your ki-rins!They are original and beautiful.Work on anatomy! | |
| 15 Dec 2002 | Lauren Snyder | Whoa! Awesome job. I was just looking throguh the recent additions as I do everyday playing a little game I like to call "Guess which pictures will be Mod's choice tomarrow", and I think this should really make it. It's great, keep it up. | |
| 28 Feb 2003 | Lebelage | just found this sight today looking to compare my own kirin art. of all the western style kirin conceptions I've found this is the most striking. Interesting use of a mainly equine form with a more reptilian feel of grace and movement. The background colour and texture suit it well, but it seems to me more steam than smoke(not a bad thing in my opinion. Will definately watch this artists progress. Erin Stevenson O'Connor replies: "Yes, I should have made the background a bit darker to convey smoke-rather-than-steam; I definitely see what you mean. Glad you like it! The kirin is my favorite subject ( ) so be sure to drop in for updates." | |
| 30 Apr 2003 | Rishkan | It's amazing! The best Kirin I have ever seen. | |
| 23 Sep 2003 | Rochelle 'Dragontrap' Michael | I like how you actually shaded in the scales | |
