SciFi and Fantasy Art: Pangaea - Darkness Comes

Here we have a rather young Rylerion accompanied by his faithful friend and companion; Lylacra, the white ylvain. Having had enough of people treating him like a freak, showing him nothing but fear and loathing because of his foreign heritage, he turned his powers to darkness, and set his heart to revenge.
Those ruins there was a great city a few hours ago - the first real city he destroyed. Felt pretty good, too. Out of the soot and smoke he played around and created illusions and figures like that horse there - much like a child trying to see shapes and figures in the clouds a nice summer day.
Now he's off to the capital city of the land where he has lived almost all his life, yet never known even the slightest hint of acceptance. Hatred having made him bitter, he's out for revenge; for his murdered parents, and his own wretched life up until now.
Dark times are coming.

Did this on and off for a few days, as always in Corel Photopaint 9, with my good ole little Wacom tablet. I had fun creating those smoke-effects there, and it all almost turned out just the way I had envisioned it. The horse is supposed to more or less be created from soot and smoke, thus the slightly blurred edges and unusual lack of highlights. Originally it was supposed to be even bigger, but hey. Little Rion created it after all, maybe he wanted something he could actually climb aboard or something. ^^;;
