SciFi and Fantasy Art: Desert Dragon

This is a nother figure out of atos complicated background story, his name is Yawa (He's Laila's Dad) and he rides this cool dragon that he raised himself (it's supposed to be the same one as in 'lost in the caves' but it changed a bit) too bad that I, for once, don't have a name ready, so please help me out... Drawn with pencil, colored and set on the foto background in photoshop.

That works really well! I love the lighting.. I especially like the detail on the dragon's face, and on Yawa.. The dragon's pose seems fluid too.. Is it landing?

Well thanks! Actually yes, it's suposed do be landing. It would be clearer if I had made a dustcloud, but it just didnt look good, so I left it out.

You can't just put a lightning effect over your object. For example the tail has no light on your picture, but there would definately be some. Imagine which of the parts of the dragon will get touched by the light and select those with the tool in photoshop. Then you work with only that selected parts and can change their brightness and maybe add yellow. Imagine the part being lightened on the dragon just as you imagined its shadow cast on the sand.

[[ Whiissttt-stle! ]] Dem, Kiddo. I strongly admire for the sake of me not being able to CG nor Draw Dragons. [[ Cringe ]] You'd think by now I'd know. I've making numerous backgrounds and tried fitting them in, but Alas, It shan't work. You've got Talent, Kiddo!
