| 22 Oct 2001 | Stanton F. Fink | I think they used the term "deformed" in reference that they don't display bilateral symmetry. Anyhow, this reminds me of some of the "freaks" in Japanese mangas from over a hundred years ago. This looks like hundred year old Japanese freaks? *squints* | |
| 28 Oct 2001 | Kelly Turnbull | Hmm, I don't know about it looking like a Japanese monster, but it really makes me think "Sciapod".Now I'm just feeling dumb. What's a Sciapod? | |
| 1 Nov 2001 | Kelly Turnbull | A monster from back in the middle ages. It was a giant (Maybe a cyclops, I forget) with one big leg. It kept itself from getting a sun burn while it was asleep by laying on it's back and putting it's leg up in the air for shade. Woo, I'm full of useless facts. No such thing as a useless fact. It's just junkfood for your brain. | |
| 10 Apr 2002 | Rebecca 'Bekki' Marie Kent | Is that it's internal organs on the back? Is he missing his whole half of a body? And if that isn't his spleen, colon, kidney, etc., then what the heck is it? But, other than that small question.. it looks really cool. The hump on his back is actually a sort of a double-shoulder. You know how body-builders get nice big muscles on their backs? Well, imagine if all the muscles for both shoulders were piled up and attached to one arm. My Fachan dude here is buff. And, I think I gave him a bit of a carapace, too, so the lumps on his back could also be a bit of a turtle-shell effect.
He's got one of everything that most people have two of, except ears. He doesn't have any ears. | |
| 23 Apr 2003 | Shelley | Today I thought that I was being told a story by one of my teachers. He said that back in the 1400's there was this monster with one leg and one huge foot to shade him from the sun. So what else is one to do with that info... of course look it up online. And behold there is such a thing. Good job on knowing what a sciapod is. | |
