SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Isle of Denilou

So this is one of my map drawings I did for the Santharian cause. I really like fantasy maps very much, but very often whenever people are setting up fantasy sites and do their maps on their own the initial idea is much better than the final result they manage to accomplish. So I thought that I'll try my own style. And I guess manually grayscale pictures with Adobe Photoshop would do the job pretty well. Well, here's one of the results... - The map by the way is the map of the isle of Deni'lou ('Sacred land') or Broks's island based on stories written by our Englishman Andrew Dunbar, one of our first Santharian members. Brok by the way is the name of Andrew's dog *grin*, but in Santharian lands he somehow has turned to a dwarf.

Nice map, its very clear, so you can tell whats a river and whats a forest. My maps always turn up jumbled, so only I know what the hell is going on in it. Good work.

LOL I promise this wont be another "WOW" comment. I am an avid game designer of many years. I draw all my own maps by hand and have been told that they are very good. However I am looking for a way to generate them on my computer so that I can set up my own fantasy web site based on the most recent world that I have developed. Anyway I was wondering what software thatr you used to generate your maps in.? You said that the above map was grey scaled in adobe?.....it is very good and incrediably clear. Nice work on it. Any info you could give me would be helpful and if you wanted I could even e-mail you copies of the maps I have drawn...dunno if that would interest you or not. Well this is getting long winded. Great work here.

WOW! I am impressed!! You are very dedicated to your story set-up! That is admirable, as I too am trying to set up a world of my own for a story, and I can appreciate the effort going into your work. The map is well-done! Going to go check out your story's site too.
