SciFi and Fantasy Art: Moonbird

A point of transition.
A time to go beyond the familiar and into realms that are both liberating and frightening.
In both this and in the Russian folktale 'The Firebird' it is the finding of a feather, then of a bird, that causes a series of events that lead to a whole new place in life... is this my feather? Watercolour on Strathmore 10' x 7.5'

This is a gorgeous, gorgeous, GORGEOUS piece. It's so soft... just like moonlight. And the swirls in the sky are positively mesmerizing. The Moonbird looks very protective of the man, and almost like he/she is trying to show him something, to teach him. Very lovely work.
