| 22 Mar 2008 | Mackenzie Taylor | Wow. This is incredible. Where to begin??.... The artistry is great but my favorite thing is all the subtle differences in addition to the obvious ones... like the way the gray horse’s mane falls to the other side in contrast to the proud pose and flowing mane of the other... I definitely feel that that expresses wisdom vs vanity, I’m not sure why the mane on the other side shows wisdom but somehow it does.. I guess maybe it shows age and experience and realization of the dangers of vanity...? and I love how the gray clouds don’t stop but instead blend into nice fluffy white ones. And the deathly expression in the gray horse’s eyes is very expressive. Beautiful painting! A. Thomason replies: "Thank you! I’m glad you picked out those things ^^ This was fun to paint exactly because I had to do opposites, or at least differences, in each area. I didn’t want a harsh cut-off between the two, since so many opposite things have hard to distinguish boundaries - they can just kind of seem to blend together, and yet, there is a defining line between the two ^^" | |

| 27 Mar 2008 | Green Phoenix | Interesting visual representation of a play of a variety of concepts. I should try to return and give this one a closer look later. ~#E A. Thomason replies: "Hee hee.... there are quite a few things hidden in here that might not be so obvious at first - but that’s the fun of it ^^" | |
| 27 Mar 2008 | Elli Carlton | This is absolutely breathtaking! I love it. How big of a canvas did you work on? A. Thomason replies: "Thank you! I used a piece of paper (ack, I always start with paper and then kick myself afterwards for not using something more durable, and yet I do it over and over XD), I think it’s around 14 by 11 inches." | |
| 13 Apr 2008 | Dave Cripps | The little flower that separates them seems to be clinging to life in both dimensions. A. Thomason replies: "Ha ha, yeah, you’re right. Most of the opposites in the painting just came together, but that flower was the one thing I had to have from the beginning ^^" | |
