SciFi and Fantasy Art: Celestial Birth

This was an image done for a fantasy book cover contest. As I'm not a 3d modeller, the trick here was to be inventive with the standard poser stuff :) This is also one of the first multi-render layered image I did. The light beam, woman and dragon were rendered separated in Vue d'esprit and compiled in Paint Shop Pro. This was also one of the first images that I heavily manipulated layers. Although I'm not 100% happy with the results, I'm thrilled with what I learned in the process of making it (and no, I didn't win :) ) I'll have the larger version up at my gallery when I get the chance to (which doesn't seem like anytime soon *sighs*)
