SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Circle of Death

I got a little bored with the crayons and thought I'd give the watercolours a shot. Since I wasn't too selfconfident about the medium I wanted to keep it as simple as possible. The primal idea was just to change the roles of a usual dragon-fighter scene. The guy being in the air and the dragon on ground. The title 'circle of death' is just somekind of an idea I started thinking after painting the pic for some time and it doesn't really show in it. (watercolour [both the paint and pencils], A2)

I really like the perspective- you did a great job on that! I see you are just as good with watercolor as the crayons - it's really interesting to see that it looks almost like your crayon drawings (ie; same textures and way of coloring). You have a very interesting drawing style, too. Thank you for putting up some new stuff - I look forward to seeing more.

Aaaw, you did it all wrong! one of your first times with watercolour right, wanted to make it simple right. Well you failed! Have you seen a watercolour painting before? It´s usually two-three brushstrokes then it´s done. This is one of the most detailed watercolour paintings I´ve seen. It doesn´t even look like watercolour. Not that it matters, this is good nevertheless. I love the drama of the camera-angle, and the concept also. Your rather childish, fairytale style Is wonderfull! No need to try to make realistic and highly kitchy fantasy art. Yours is much better as it is.

no, I think it is rather simple, just with a lot of detail. And I love the role-reversal, and the dragon's expression. Only, even though the dragon is eating a bloddy hunk of meat, he (she?) doesn't look evil enough to deserve what that warrior is about to do to him (her?). Ouch! Great job, but the rays of light somewhat distract me. They aren't consistent with the light in the rest of the painting, to me, at least. The seem rather forced, but I like the idea.

I would love to see that dragon by himself in a scene. For some reason men seem to ruin my view of the dragon and the entire composition when they are introduced. This is a great idea though, a nice role reversal. Please tell me he isnt eating human though?

I really like the perspective. The trees look really huge which creates a really cool feeling. I also really like the clouds with the flock of birds.

Something is wrong with the man feet!! Their positions seems wrong. The whole perspective instead is great!!

I think the sky (clouds) and the perspective are the best things in this picture. Thanks and terveisin!
