SciFi and Fantasy Art: Tarot

Ok, it's not really a Tarot card. It's actually a label I designed for one of my puzzle projects, but I think it would look make for a neat 'High Priestess' in a Deck. Of course, the reader would have to come up with their own interpretations with my Deck, as I wouldn't even consider following tradition!

I have a tarot deck and jus so ya know, the cup and the pentagram are different elemsent and arnt suposed to be in a card together. Im not being mean or anything, i really like the pic, but as you said you dont follow tradtion. I love the look on her face.

Great pic. The best bits IMHO are the composition and how the elements of the pic (priestess, pentagram thingy) fit together. And the colours - rich and bold.
The one thing that bugs me is how she's feeling. Her face seems determined and focused but her pose, the way she's clutching the goblet to her chest makes her look shy and a little frightened.
But the colour! The concept! Fabulous!

:-) Tristan Walling replies: "I was trying to make it that she was holding the cup up, but I have felt very much the same about this pic. I hadn't come to really put my finger on it, but I felt that something was "off" with it, and you've articulated it very well. Mebbe I'll try again. "

By the goddess! I never thought I would find an artist who can capture the sprit behind the image so well!! if you were to make an entire deck I would love the rights to print a copy, the meaning I see in it is the young preistess, she doesen't fully know her power yet but when she does...well need I say more?please make more of a deck its so beautiful. and if you want help with meanings my bff is a phsycic and could probavly work it out Blessed Be!

nice, as some one who is Pagan and uses tarot decks on.. well we will just say alot, it is very nice. I like how you made the priestess a little younger than an adult, it would make a terrific card in a tarot deck for younger Pagans to relate to if they needed help visualizing things. i really really like it, if you made a deck, I would be the first to buy it.

:-) Tristan Walling replies: "I tried to draw one when I was much younger, but it was quite a daunting effort. I might look into doing one again."
