SciFi and Fantasy Art: Skyla's Tentacle Troubles Continue...

Stacey Landry, fellow artist of Ben Bridenbaugh's extremely fun-to-draw character, Skyla ('The Dojin Girl'), left a comment on one of my pictures about how Skyla was often drawn in precarious situations, usually involving tentacles. What can I say, with that comment, and a little too much playing with the 'combat pit' in Dungeon Keeper 2, I was inspired. This is the result. (Many thanks to Ben for creating such a fun character. Visit him in Gallery 51!)

Haha....and the frenzy continues... She really *is* so much fun to draw. Ben's character designs are awesome! Obviously, Tristan thinks so too. I really shouldn't have baited you with that comment.. I'm not helping Skyla's situation at all... *L*

Ben, Stacy and the T-man should collaborate. What a character. She obviously inspires a lot of people. I'll volunteer to write scripts or edit or even proof.

Yay! We used to tell stories about a character like this at my HS lunch table. only there wer usually a few more tentacle-ful things, but this is pretty much the same.

Another great drawing. As someone said before, the characters faces really show a lot of emotion in this picture. Skyla should be careful with her lightning spear (or whatever it is), she looks close to cutting off her foot. Though I know that you didn't design Skyla's costume, I just have to say I love what an odd mish-mash of stuff it is. To me it looks like futuristic Aztec lingerie with hiking boots. Don't ask me how Aztec got into that description.

Heh, I like this picture! This picture is coloured on computer, I'm guessing, and you did a good job too, especially on the girl's skin.

great pic, except one thing is bugging me: she looks like she's winning, but the scoreboard back there says "Elf Chick: 0; Tentacle Monster: 3", did the Monster beat three people a the elf just got in the ring or is that the score for this one fight?

anyway, i like this, it reminds me of that one episode of Samarai Jack that reminded me of Mad Max Beyond the Thunderdome...

I'm a big fan of this kind of art (the subject matter more than the style) but one thing that really bugs me is that people never... how can I put this... follow things through to their logical conclusion?

Just a thought

:-) Tristan Walling replies: "Can't really on Elfwood, I've had to pull material here before."

Are there any sites where you can put that kind of stuff?
