SciFi and Fantasy Art: Lionsmane Falls

Ever since I did a painting a while ago--'Undine'--with a bit of waterfall in it, I've been itching to do something with a LOT of waterfall in it...and here it is. The European lion went extinct way back when, being overhunted and acquired for arenas (of the lions and the Christians, the lions by far came out the losers) but I imagine some nameless--and wet--sculptor chiselling away a tribute where falling water would form a mane. No matter how I play around with other styles, I always come back to the old beloved digital realism...and rocks and water, water and rocks. (And since the time honored refrain of 'There's more detail, but it's too small...' is wearing on me, I'm putting up a detail of the chick.)
