SciFi and Fantasy Art: Alternate Frogs III

The golden flying frog, Rana avias concolor, in its natural habitat among the roots of the bristlecone pine. I've run across paintings of winged frogs a few times--did you know that there actually ARE things called flying frogs? They're like flying squirrels, though, no actual wings. Steph Law did a particularly nice one, lots of motion. I'm a naturalist at heart, though...I needed a close up of the specimen. I was itching to see every detail of his slimy little wings. This painting had sort of an interesting genesis...it started as a watercolor, over which I slaved for about two days before admitting that I have, in fact, been bested, and it was not going to look like my mental image without a minor miracle. Rather than sacrifice an art critic to the Watercolor Gods at midnight in hopes of requisitioning a miracle, I scanned the good bits and worked them over in my medium of choice, much to the betterment of the whole.
