SciFi and Fantasy Art: Quendan o'Quinbar

Another gryphon and phoenix charas. oh yes... quendan is one of my oldest Characters of Gryphon and phoenix, and of course he has very much background meanwhile. This picture is quite new, though the sketch it is basing on is one of my very old ones which I liked still. I thought Quendan as one of my favourite caras - though he is not a 'main' in that sense and either he was never a hero - I should grant a place here in my gallery. you might think that he is not very beautiful for an elf and you are right - he was concepted as an 'ugly elf' when I created him more then ten years ago. Of course Quendan has another shape, he is a gryphon with scars over his beak and as well as in the shape you see here with only one green eye. His feathers are dark brown. The picture was made with Photoshop, and the photo the background is basig on - which as usually I shot myself, of course - shows the museum of my neighbour town Attendorn/Germany. But its not original... it got some 'liftings here and there befoe I used it for the pic *g*

Wah, the tights are funny =) Really looks like a dressing right from "our" middle-ages (I know you have a collection of clothing, but I had to say it grins). He looks kind of perky with that wink in the eyes Uta ´Freawyn´ Hesse replies: "g hehe... I don't know exactly what perky means here, but Quendan is a sly one, and courious. He always know what people think, its a natural talent. He knows many stories of the people who visit the "Ratsschänke", the taverna which id his biggest hobby. He is one who always knows everything. For the clothing: What Quendan hear wears looks very much like one of my first LARP-costumings, just that I had different shoes and that my leggings were all black and white stripes. I found the shirt (it is white but it is originally like this one here) back then at H&M..hehe... I have it still, because its "Quendans shirt"..."

Uta ´Freawyn´ Hesse replies: "Thank you very much, its a great compliment. You know the background it a photo with some elements that are not original and I overworked it with one or two filters to make the foreground fitting better..."

I love his costume again - some people visiting medieval faires nowadays should have a look at your page when they want to make themselves a fitting costume! Uta ´Freawyn´ Hesse replies: "Thank you very much. yes, I love Quendan as well very much. He is still one of my most favourites... for the clothes... if you someday will visit me, I'll show you the "original" shirt. The boots though and the leggings are something I don't have as this..."
