Once apon a time, In a land far, far away, An Angel fell to Earth.
His heart was missing, Ripped from his body, By the lioness he once loved.
Torn, broken, and without love, He called out to his friend, The Mermaid for help.
She held and comforted him, and when the time was right, She gave him the gift of Love.
'Take this heart of an eternal, And never feel lonely again. Soar again my sweet friend.'

First is the perspective, most mermaids get shown with the tail full lenght in profile or strait on to the viewer, this breaks with tradition and the picture has a relaxed natural feel instead of looking posed. Her expession is sweet and kind and carefree. You could strengthen this by simply adding a bit of tone to the background. A pale blue-green sea tone maybe.
