| 24 May 2001 | Tansy A. H. Pye | Ooooh this is nice. I love the colours on the rock face, magpie colours and the contrast from that to the field to the striking red of the dragon.... there is nothing I don't like here. I hate you and your ability to paint backgrounds! grrr | |
| 24 May 2001 | James K. Bowers | Such a strong contrast between stone, the distant fields, and the dragon... So do you know this dragon personally or was it just simple luck that allowed you to get out of his lair alive? I had been toying with the idea of doing some watercolor painting & will get around to it sooner or later... Won't be anything as nifty as this, I'm sure, but I do intend to have a bit of fun with it anyway... And you be careful, my dear... It just wouldn't do for you to become a mid-day snack for some hungry wyrm... | |
| 24 May 2001 | SHERWOOD2 <opuscroakus@exc...com | Hello and thanks for visiting me again (I know, I need to put new stuff up more often). I like this image, you are very good at useing watercolors. I know that that is a difficult medium ,though apparently not for you (or well you've put a lot of effort into learning and working with it). The image is well done and the colors are also well chosen, though i'm most impresed that the watercolors did not mix and mess each other up like when I work in watercolors. | |
| 25 May 2001 | Jennifer Alice Peters | sooo good! I cannot say enough good things about this, it's rare that you see something from this perspective, it gives me the impression that we are seeing from the view of some victim of this red dragon that has been trapped her in it's lair, now the dragon is returning to enjoy his meal O_O | |
| 28 May 2001 | Troy L. Megli <quadra_jet@y | This is pure awesome Helen! I LOVE the rocks and the coloring, the dragon has a wonderfully created home, I'd like to visit and chat.... I'll even bring sheep "snacks" too!!!m : )) I also really love the bright colors in the background! The dragon' out enjoying a fly in the warm sunshine. | |
| 31 May 2001 | Marlena Cannon | Yes indeed, the textures of the stones came out great. Also, I like the point of view. Very pretty and very cool. And I cannot wait to see more watercolor work from you. | |
| 18 Jan 2002 | Joe | I love the feeling you get looking at this pic, you really feel your standing in the cave looking out. Well done! | |
| 6 Jan 2003 | Jenn Chasteen | This is excellent. I love the colors and the lighting and the compostion and the detail... wow... this is realy good. You've got some talent girl! | |
| 14 Aug 2003 | Simon | Hey! This reminds me very much of the entrance to Thor's Cave in Derbyshire – very impressive place, especially if you go up there at night! If it wasn't the lair of a dragon then it ought to have been... It was used as the key setting in the Ken Russell film 'The Lair of the White Worm', a rather tongue-in-cheek but highly entertaining horror film loosely based on the Bram Stoker novel (and notable for early appearances by Hugh Grant and Amanda Donohoe).
Great picture – as already observed, an unusual viewpoint; seeing the dragon return as seen from INSIDE its lair! | |
