SciFi and Fantasy Art: Prayers at Twilight

Altera is a floating continent situated above the Great Ocean. Its inhabitants are governed by the Temple of Epemithius. The Epemithian temple is devoted to the major religion of Altera: Nurielisim. Nurielis is the diety of this monotheistic religion which centers on the cycles of life, death and rebirth in the form of the phoenix which is native to Altera (fire dragons are also native to the continent and can be found represented in much of its art). Here we can see a priestess at the prestigious Epemithian temple going through the twilight prayers, highlighting the symbolic "death" of the sun at night and it's miraculous "rebirth" come morning.
