SciFi and Fantasy Art: Myriad Feathers

I actually began this one during my freshman year of college, but didn't actually get back to it until now. Heh...talk about a long term project. It may be a bit simplistic, but I was trying my hand at line art for our local SF/Fantasy convention's pamphlet. And lo, this is how it turned out.

Heyyy.. can i try my hand at coloring this one for you?? pleaseeee???? and btw that is just the coollest darn thing that has just inspired me.. cooll work you have here..

:-) Jennifer R. Meyer replies: "Heh. Just so long as you don't claim it as your original work, sure. I might go back and color it, too, depending on whether or not the booklet it's for will allow color."

Ohhhh .... This would also make a gorgeous stained glass piece...Have you ever tried or considered picking up the trade?

:-) Jennifer R. Meyer replies: "Hmm. Sort of. If I ever have time, it'd certainly be something to get into. I have family that used to do it, so there's still tools and stuff. Hmm."

This is good, I'm just sad that the face is almost lost among all the feathers. Makes the creature look kind of headless, unfortunately. Other than that it's really great.

:-) Jennifer R. Meyer replies: "Yeah, I know it. I tried to outline the head more to make it stand out. I think that if I colored it, it might be more noticable."

Simplistic? This has an astounding amount of detail... it's incredible! The wings are so beautiful... I love how you get so many different kinds of wings here, without making the piece chaotic.
