SciFi and Fantasy Art: Feathers of the Phoenix

This was originally the background for a SimpleMU window that I did 'cause I wanted to play mushes on the right backgrounds. Picky, aren't I? But it turned out beautifully. It was much larger, really. This is only the border, but it's the most important part. They're phoenix feathers drifting down with rivulets of light twisting around them and each other. Done with PhotoSuite. I'm too cheap to get Photoshop. ;}

Wow cool!! Those feathers remind me of the ones they use for the mods choice picture. It's cool how the colours go from blue to red to yellow, just like in a real fire!! Awesome work, i wish i could draw feathers like that. Really awesome background too. What program do you use to colour your pictures?

:-) Jennifer R. Meyer replies: "Thankee. Actually, this piece came before the stained glass one. I think I just liked the motiffe."

I can't believe you did this on photosuite! it is so awsome!

Anyways, I just wanted to say thank you! Your pic gave me the inspiration i needed for my GCSE art exam piece. With your permission could i please use this pic for my artist link? It would have your name and the web address. Pretty please?

:-) Jennifer R. Meyer replies: "Glad it helped! And you certainly may, so long as, as you said, you give due credit, I don't mind."

Very nice! Just try not to get carried away and forget that the Phoenix is a creature of fire. I know a LOT about fantsy creatures! 1

:-) Jennifer R. Meyer replies: "Er...yes? That was sort of the intention, what with the blue to gold fire pattern and all. Besides which, mythology being mythology, is open to artistic license."

Hey! Was reading your comic, and saw this "art" button... and well, I have this thing for buttons.

I also have a --huge-- thing for phoenixes. And in such. I LOVE THIS PICTURE. <3

Also, I have a joke for you. Kind of mean, but hey, fools need to risk their necks for a laugh.

What's the difference between an elf and an onion?

I think I'm in love with the blue you used at the base of the feathers. You always use such rich colors, and this is amazing. The flow is so beautiful...
