SciFi and Fantasy Art: Feathers of the Phoenix

This was originally the background for a SimpleMU window that I did 'cause I wanted to play mushes on the right backgrounds. Picky, aren't I? But it turned out beautifully. It was much larger, really. This is only the border, but it's the most important part. They're phoenix feathers drifting down with rivulets of light twisting around them and each other. Done with PhotoSuite. I'm too cheap to get Photoshop. ;}

It's cool how the colours go from blue to red to yellow, just like in a real fire!! Awesome work, i wish i could draw feathers like that. Really awesome background too. What program do you use to colour your pictures? Jennifer R. Meyer replies: "Thankee. Actually, this piece came before the stained glass one. I think I just liked the motiffe."

Meyer replies: "Er...yes? That was sort of the intention, what with the blue to gold fire pattern and all. Besides which, mythology being mythology, is open to artistic license."
