SciFi and Fantasy Art: Sidhe of the Stained Glass

Hey hey! Ok, this one looks MUCH better than the scan. It's done in prismacolor pencils with some details in acrylics. It's a character concept I had for Changeling. Dunno if it'd be playable, but it was a fun one. Yeah, a sidhe...you know, pointy eared noble thingie. Well...not so. This one's got nocker ancestory, so while she's a sidhe, she's got the rather, ah, VOCAL personality of a nocker as well as their skills. The sidhe don't care much for her for obvious reasons, and the nockers regard her as an interloper. The armor is a fun idea I had just in general. 'K, so it's not very practicle, but nor is the Dreaming. Nocker-made stained glass armor...bound to be more comfortable than you'd think. Laws of physics? What laws of physics? This one's got a touch of anime in it. Ok, more than a touch. ;} I also love the clockwork dragonfly wings. Yay! Someday maybe I'll do an image of her sword...also bound to be stained glass. Oh! The stained glass mural on the left is her mother(nocker) and on the right is her father(sidhe). Or maybe she could be made in GURPS as a clockwork fairy. THAT would be interesting...I could also see her vaguely fitting into In Nomine. Well, no matter the game system, I love the image.

This now available on a T shirt at CafePress

The wings are awesome...I'll bet that pic took a while to do, lol...

:-) Jennifer R. Meyer replies: "Hoo yeah. Especially reconciling the forground and background."

I admit that I know nothing of "Sidhes" or "nockers," but she is admirable, at any rate. *she bows her head a bit and smiles* I find your stain-glass armour most beguiling.. If given the chance, I would wear it! Lovely and creative, your work is. I applaud ye!

Doth continue! I love it, I'm absolutely infatuated with elves, dragons, anything mystical looking!

Wow, so THIS is where Keeva came from…beautiful, incredible, etc.!!

You might consider making her a member of House Dougal, if she's of an artisanly bent. It'd certainly make for some ill will from the sidhe end of things if she abandoned her "birth" house for Dougal. Maybe her father wasn't around much when she was younger, and she learned her mannerisms and temperament from her mother?

Okay, . I love the image, especially the stained glass, and the "wings" on the armor. Absolutely beautiful; what I wouldn't give to see the original!

:-) Jennifer R. Meyer replies: "I tried to submit the original in our state fair, but it was returned because the hanging mechanism on the back wasn't done the way they wanted it to be done. Terribly sad. Oh well. If I ever get the chance, I might try to do an updated version of this, only on the computer. I still love it, but I keep wondering what I could do with it now that I've done more with the computer."

Beautiful. Stained glass armor as a generalization doesn'tr sound very practical, but if it's enchanted for strength/durability, you could use the colors as a sort of spell (Like the shifting reflections dazzles the enemy or something...) Could be easily fitted into QAGS (Hexgames Quick A$$ Gaming system, yes that really is teh title)
Anyhow, well done, and again, good use of color!

It really looks like stained glass. The scan doesn't look bad at all. I would be kewl to see how it would look with a light shining through it from the back.

Wow I just love the Sidhe! The armour! The Wings! Gods! It is jaw dropping! Wow! What is a nocker... is it like a knocker.. the mining spirits that knock to indicate veins of ore? Wow! The aura around her has to b one of my favorite things about this picture. Along with the colors. And the stained glass pictures. And the armor. And everything in general. >.>

Wow...the armor is just so...wow. It’s really cool. Maybe she should be glad she’s not one of my character’s kids, though...my character’s a Garou, and his mate’s a Fiona Sidhe...

Maybe if you recolor the face she’d look like Keeva.
