I can understand this will make things far easier on the ERB, since they have after all a back-log of a whooping 18 months, but I’m not really a fan of letting old artwork be subject to old rules, while new artwork must follow more stricter rules. It will not put a stop to people (rightfully) complaining about rejected artwork when identical artwork is allowed, merely because it was here first.

I’m surprised about the non-genre area. Year after year I’ve been hearing from all sides that Elfwood is a fantasy/sci-fi site and nothing will change that. That said, I think it is an interesting idea, and am curious to see how it will develop, even though I will likely not make much use of it myself.

Is there going to be a non-genre writing area included in that?
