The rules are now, finally, updated.

We've decided to relax the somewhat strict rules of our genre definitions for the SF&F art area. There are now three groups a picture can be put into (A) Clear, (B) Borderline and (C) Non-Genre. Before the change, we rejected most of the type (B) pictures, while we from now on allow up to 50% of them in a gallery.

That's the major change, and details/definitions can be found at the Art Rules Page at Elfwood.

There has also been numerous minor changes, details fixed, typos removed, etc! The rules are better and clearer now.

Many thanks to all moderators who helped me and the ERB to rewrite the rules!

ps, We will allow a 3 month grace period, use this one to add good fantasy/scifi descriptions to your type (B) pictures, please!

I want to comment on the email that Brian Keith Cooke received. He didn’t get a 3 mo grace period. He got an email today giving him one week. And from your own rules, the ones that are questioned, imho, are in compliance. Just an observation.

25 Thomas F Abrahamsson replies: "A three month period between August 31 2005 and the last of November 2005."

No announcement was sent when the rules were updated, but that’s neither here nor there. My main question is, to whom do I apply/lobby/complain to have the rules modified/changed? Every time I attempt to respond to the missive sent by the ERB, it bounces.
