1 - Set a good example.
All members of the Elfwood staff are expected to abide by all of the
Rules of Elfwood. In fact, as staff members they are further expected to
set standards above those the rules themselves demand.
2 - Be nice.
While the staff of Elfwood are volunteers, they are still expected to
provide courteous support to the members of Elfwood. There is no excuse
for being rude or unprofessional.
3 - Avoid working when you are not fully capable of it.
Working on the Elfwood staff can be a demanding job. There will
occasionally be times when you find you simply can not perform to the
best of your abilities. Rather than force yourself to work, pass the
burden on and take a break. Oh, and never ever work while under the
influence of any of the following: Alcohol, drugs, anger, depression, or
any other mind-altering state.
4 - If in doubt, ASK.
The best part about Elfwood (and its staff) is that we are a community.
There is an entire network of resources available to you in our members.
It's better to just wait a little bit for a second opinion, rather than
risk making a mistake you'll have to fix later.
5 - Never forget WHY you first joined Elfwood.
When duties begin to cloud your vision of what you wanted from Elfwood,
take a step back. Hey, we're regular members of Elfwood too, and we
deserve to take a break sometimes to get back to our own lives. Don't
ever lose sight of what is really important.
