FanArt: Letztes Bataillon

The Millennium organization, from Hellsing by Kouta Hirano. Schrödinger, Major Montana Max, Rip van Winkle, Joleen Britz, Luke and Yan Valentine, Captain Hans Günsche and Doc (who sadly lacks a proper name). When I realized that I had forgotten Alhambra it was too late, gahhhh...
My first time drawing Major, Schrödinger, Joleen and Captain :) Hrm, I hate drawing guns, and hands for that matter.

Hello, just stumbled over your picture. I do not know the picture reference you mention in the explanation text, but does it really make sense to use a "Hakenkreuz" (engl. fylfot???) in art? Would there not have been a better way of expressing whatever you wanted to express? I KNOW that it is an old norse rune etc.etc and that the Nazis did not invent it, but they PERVERTED it (as so many other things) So I dont think that it is appropriate to use it in Art, whether Fantasy or not.
This is just my opinion as a young German who is aware of the history of Germany.

:-) Nathalie Eriksson Nilsson replies: "The Millennium organization is a Nazi organization in the Hellsing manga. They are also, naturally, the villains. I have been working on another piece with the heroes (two organizations, protestant and catholic respectively) where I have used a cross to divide the characters in a similar manner in which I made use of the swastika here. I wanted to do a similar piece for the Millennium organization and in that case a cross wouldn't be suitable, thus I chose the swastika as they are Nazis.
I am aware of what the Nazis did, I don't approve of it in any way, but I believe that we shouldn't be afraid of making use of them in art. "

Ms. Pavlovic, while I respect your opinion, I do request that you READ THE DAMN MANGA before you judge someone for drawing a relevant fanart piece. You may be aware of German History, but you know nothing of Hellsing, or you wouldn't have thrown a hissy fit.

Great picture you should do it in colour if you haven't already and as a German I don't find this offensive at all and I too know about what they did, as sad as it was it's over and done with PLUS this is for Hellsing so it's all cool, people need all the facts before they start critasising other's work.
GREAT WORK!! KEEP IT UP!!
Auf Wiedersehen!

Wow, lovely picture. Shame there's no Alhambra. I'd love to use this as an icon if only it weren't for that slighty controversial symbol. I love your ersion of the Major espiecally
