I have a solution to your problem! You said you have lots of ideas, but have trouble getting them down...may I suggest taking an art class? It truly helps, and after only a few classes you'll be surprised by how much you improve. Another thing that is really amazing is taking summer classes at an art colleges, most colleges have certain summer programs for middleschool and high school students.
