FanArt: The Great Reunion

The leaders of the Pkunk and the Yehat meet for the first time in countless millenia to reunite what was once a species split in two.

I took some liberties with the anatomy of both (sub)species to make them look more like they could have been derived from the same basal stock, and reinterpreted some characters so that it looks like a Pkunk could really be just a strange sort of Yehat (or vice versa). I still think I managed to remain quite true to the original images of SCII.

It kind of reminds me of this one book I read on dinosaurs, and this one species split into three or four varying subspecies, and they all had different ornamentation sort of things on their head. One had a plate, one had spikes, etc. Kind of reminds me when I had to learn about genetics in my biology class too. Damn Darwin's finches, with their 50 billion subspecies! ;oD Good color, bold lines, very neat and just wonderful in general. Well done.

I didn't think fanart for this even exsisted! dies I love that game... the Yehat were my favourite of the species... very nice detail, they look perfect. Nice and smooth looking, great art! Way to go!

27 Jul 2005	People type thingy	Loading... For those who do not know, the game these are from is Star Control 2. Which rocks, and I still have it. I have star control 3 also. but.. the characters/races could have looked a lot better, there needs to be another star control (4).
11 Feb 2006	Ari Rahikkala	Loading... It's a beauty. I was dubious about the texture on their skins until I learned that pterodactyls actually did have fur... love the noble look of the Yehat and the eye colours.
