Brian is a megalomaniac otaku who enjoys drawing anime/manga style pictures of his and friends' RPG personas, and would one day like to move from Chicago to the West Coast or Japan.

Yo, what's up? I'm Brian Larson and I'm a senior in high school.
I've been an artist most of my life... ever since I picked up a crayon I've been drawing weird things, although when I got introduced to **ACTUAL** anime in my frosh year (EVA!), I got hooked on that style and that's basically all I do now.
I really want to become a computer specialist/Japanese speaker/manga-anime artist/video-game concept-art maker. I want to go to a primarily game art and design school, like DigiPen in Redmond, WA, or one of the national 'Art Institute' colleges. Dunno yet, really, and I *should* get cracking on it.
Yeah.... so, um.... I mainly use a mechanical pencil and/or Adobe Photoshop to make my art, although I sometimes use Gel pens for others. I really want to move to Japan (preferably Tokyo) and join one of the drawing groups there (or at least join a company here in the US and translate them). CLAMP is one of my favs!
Hehe, what's interesting is that some of my best art is on the regular college ruled lined paper. Really freaky. Um, anyhow... hey, got any comments, tips, criticism, post em below, but please... no flames. Only constructive stuff, like, 'try tucking the arm a bit higher' or something like that.
Wow!You are so talented!I could never draw like that...but I like doing it Anyways,I would love to see any of your other art(if you have any),so please send them to me if you have the time.Good luck!
Great stuff man! Btw, I don't want to burst your bubble, but DigiPen is extremely heavy into maths, then physics, then programming. If you intend to get seriously into computers like you said, considering you've obviously already got the art part down, you'll go far Brian Larson replies: "Yeah, I've been looking at DigiPen a bit, and thankfully, I've been able to find out stuff about DigiPen that I really appreciated. I really want to go there, but a big problem is how there isn't any housing for the students there (I live in Chicago, so it's be a bit of a commute! ^_^ ). I'm looking more at liberal arts colleges now, just so that way I have a chance to study all the programs I like. Maybe after college, I'll head out and study at an art school. Never know."
Och! My lord you look like my brother! Scary business, man. .... Very odd... Well ur drawing style is much different. Urs is very good ( hahah not that his isnt.. Buuut) , nice stuff. Keep up the awesome work!

Hey Brian I think its awsome what you've done so far I just have a couple sujestions k. first, try adding more expreshion to thier faces, try making thier noses with a bit more detale, what I mean is try to make it look 3D instead of 2D. seckond, make there clothes with rincoles and creases but be carfull that you dont overdo it K. and last try to make the outeline of thier faces a bit more shapey, what I mean is try to make there chin, jaw line, forhead and cheek look a bit more seperat, you can do this but gently curving your lines at the aproperate places. there you go I hope this has helped a bit although I dought it. (smile) I did enjoy looking at your drawing's you are a pretty good artist and i hope you go far. P.S. hey I hope this isnt to long but hey what can you do (smileing big)

Hey Brian,
Great work, its always a pleasure to see other inspiring artists putting there art work on display and receiving critiques. I'm an artist myself, I've been in art school for about two years so far, studying to be a 2-D animator and into 3-D modeling. Some suggestions though, really branch out there and take you anime style in a different direction. I see so much anime done these days that I really don't see a specific style, they're all very similar. And in order to really WOW people, especially in the art work, which is not a kind and easy place to live, you need to take your style and improve and give your characters more of an appealing look and take them farther away from the traditional anime.
