FanArt: Thestral

'If he had had to give them a name, he supposed he would have called them horses, though there was something reptilian about them, too. They were completely fleshless, their black coats clinging to their skeletons, of which every bone was visible. Their heads were dragonish, and their pupil-less eyes white and staring. Wings sprouted from each wither - vast, black leathery wings that looked as though they ought to belong to giant bats.' ~ Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. How I saw them. Scan could have been better but oh well :)

G'day,
Wowza, y'know, this is exactly how I imagined Thestrals to look like. I am not exactly top gun when it comes to 'constructive critisism' but I'll try my best....the wing...the, um...placing of it, I reckon, is sorta Skew-Whiff, if you know what I mean....*tries to hide thick (damn) Aussie Accent*...um, well, I mean, like, I would of thought, that the wing would be a smidge towards the middle of the back, but hey?! THey aren't real, and this is how you interpreted it, so, good on ya mate!
TTFN, ta ta for now!
From Kymberley Grimm

:-) Anna Briggs replies: "Thanks! I put the wings more on the shoulders 'cause I didn't think anywhere else could really support them- but as you say, they're not real! 2"

Wonderful shading and a lovely shaped body. Not quite how i imagined them, i thought perhaps more reptillian. But hey, we dont all have the same imagination. Lovely work. Keep it up.

I think its a great pic!!!!! the only thing i can argue with is the mane, it should be longer, like the tail. other then that no complants here!!!

:-) Anna Briggs replies: "I thought of putting a longer mane when it was too late and would have looked bad, oh well! Thankyou very much! 2"

Just how I imagined them. This should be on a Harry Potter tour. Maybe I should make one just for this picture. Lovely shading, especially on the tail.

2 Anna Briggs replies: "Thanks very much! Such a generous comment from someone who draws harry potter characters incredibly! "
