FanArt: 'the Ghost of CargoBay 58'Don't ask, just don't ask. It's a follow up to the other pictures with ghosts of the Ghosts (I am seriously damaged I know) The story is as follows: Those who have read Honour Guard, knows what problems Gaunt got himself into. I toyed with the idea ( bit too much) that Gaunt would be brought before 'justice' anyhow and stripped of rank, well, you name it. He dies a broken man, forgotten and embittered. Two hundred years later, some strange murders occour in a transport ship, ship which once housed the famous Tanith 1st in it's holds. The murders are strange becuase the murderer left no traces, not even any signs of violence on the bodies of his victims. Only one soldier survives an encounter with the Ghost of CargoBay58, as the murderer got called, and as he explained to the regimental commissar what the being looked like, the commie gets a strange look on his face. The soldier asks whats wrong. 'One of my comrades fits exactly in on your description. The only problem is that he died some hundred years ago.' The white flares are white-fires, btw, cold, lethal fires which when they pass through the body of a human, takes his/her soul with it. They obey every whim of their eternal masters. Maria 'Cerion' Olsson replies: "Hrm, how come I then get Black Sabbath's Psycho man in my head? The midnight hour approaches The killing chill takes over him His victims will not know when he appears The lust of Death's possession Will overtake his psycho mind He won't be happy 'till he smells their fear "
| 16 Dec 2003 | Anonymous | Very freaky. Very nice. Do another. Maria 'Cerion' Olsson replies: "If I can get myself to work entirely in Painter classic again... " | |
| 5 Jan 2004 | Anonymous | Great artwork, too bad the Navare was [Removed for teh sake of new Ghosts fans] .. Oh well. Maria 'Cerion' Olsson replies: "Please, I must tell you to avoid posting spoilers from new books, like Sabbat Martyr. This is just to assure myself of not spoiling a great book for people who are or are about to read it. Do try to avoid this in the future, please." | |
| 21 Mar 2004 | Kittenwoman | Uhh.. spoliers.. the word alone sends a shiver down my spine...On the topic of the books, I've read First and Only thoroughly three times or so, and skinned over Ghostmaker twice... which book is next again? The other five titles are spinning round my head and kinda confusing me... is it any good?(NO SPOLIERS PLEAZE) Maria 'Cerion' Olsson replies: " Don't worry, I try to keep 'em away from my gallery. The next books are, in correct order: Necropolis. Honour Guard. The Guns of Tanith. Straight Silver. Sabbat Martyr. Hope it helps! " | |
| 24 Mar 2004 | Kittenwoman | Thanks Cerion! I just need to write them down somewhere where they will stay... I have a habit of writing things on my hand, ankles, fingers and knees so sometimes I look like a grafiti-ed freak. They thing is, though they do kinda look like strange tattoos (from a distance) they always smudge and intermingle, which makes it a little hard to decipher them later... It s a little like the episode of the Simpsons when Homer falls in love with midy, his co-worker, and writes down his confession that he loves her on his hand. When he comes to read it to her, hes been sweating and he reads; "M..mindy, you are an..elf... ermm.." If you don't know what the Simpsons are, just ignore my insane ramblings | |
| 25 Mar 2004 | Ian Burns | That is really cool, and the story behind it is even better. I've read all of the Guant's Ghost books at least twice(four times in the case of Sabbat Martyr). Keep up the cool looking artwork. Maria 'Cerion' Olsson replies: "And I though I had a Gaunt's Ghosts-craze going on... I haven't read them THAT many times (once in the case of Sabbat Martyr), cause I ahve good memory and lotsa other books to read. As for art, there will be more,a s soon as my life cleans up... messy messy messy...." | |
| 4 Aug 2005 | Drong Drango, Keeper | "The ghosts of the past scares me no more. It is the ghosts from now that haunt me." Nevermind that. I like to dramble about nothing.
Good shading, It gives the impression of a ghost. The flares... Well, I come to think about chinese/japanese old pictures of flares when I see them, but it's probably nothing, I give it a 9/10. There's just something that looks wierd. The arms seems to be thicker then the body, looking at it logical, but it might just be me.
Keep them coming, we are still waiting in anticipation for any new developed (or crazy) story from a picture!
