FanArt: Celes and Cid

Celes and Cid, from Final Fantasy VI, have always fascinated me. We're told the Cid raised Celes, but nothing more than that. What was it like, having Cid as a parent? How did Celes lose her real parents? Did Cid teach her? Did they live together? This image came to me and it was so lovely I had to put it to paper. Cid, hard at work, with a darling 5 or 6 year old Celes clinging to his leg while toting her beloved stuffed rabbit. It's another old piece, and I don't much like Cid's clothes or their hands, but their faces still please me. And the stuffed rabbit. Drawn in graphite pencil on my sketchpad.

They obviously cared about each other deeply, but it isn't given much attention in the game. I like her face -very earnest and innocent. Cora M. Ludwig replies: "Thank you! I think Cid and Celes had a very close, very loving relationship and I'd always thought she was seperated from her parents at a young age, that her life growing up in the capital was hard, especially with Kefka around. I really like her bunny."
