FanArt: Esper Terra

Terra is one of the many amazing character from Final Fantasy VI. Here, I've shown her in her esper form. I was never very happy with the pictures of Terra as an esper in the game or in the art books, so I decided to draw my own. I find it hard to believe that Terra would look so fierce as an esper when she's so sweet, kind, and timid as a human. She's studying her hands with a look of dismay, wondering what she is, that wonderful question of 'What does it mean to be a monster?' Her hair was wicked fun to draw and color! Drawn in graphite and colored pencil on my sketchpad.

Shuffles a bit and hopes no one noticed) I didn't mind the fierceness of Terra's Esper form so much. I think there's supposed to be some idea that the Esper form reveals hidden parts of her personality... She certainly was extrememly fierce when the orphanage was threatened. Besides, the same person can be sweet or terrifying at different times. It's a nice picture. I like how you have her staring at her hands like that. Cora M. Ludwig replies: "Very true, I hadn't considered that. I'd thought she was very beautiful as an esper in the game but the concept art always seemed very ugly to me. I wanted to portray her as a kind of "beautiful monster" though I agree that it makes a lot of sense that she's supposed to be terrifying as a portrayl of her inner strength. I really enjoyed her pose as well. Thank you so much for the comment!"
