FanArt: Nightcrawler in 3D

I had been playing around with the idea of making a statue using a hobbyshop-bought plastic skeleton as a base. Superheroes are easier to draw and sculpt because they traditionally wear spandex. This saves the artist from complicated draped fabrics. And this was my first attempt, so I needed it as easy as possible. Nightcrawler has a simple costume, is photogenic and kinda cute. Besides,in my knowledge no commercial full-body figure has ever been done of this character. (Bowen Designs did a rather nice bust though) This figure was based on a 1:6 scale plastic skeleton, brand Airfix. It was put together with a lot of stiff thin wire, and posed on an old cd-box. the flesh was made with simple air-drying clay, and the tail was made from an old underwired bra's wire. (sometimes it pays to be a chick). I used a simple book on anatomy as reference. The fine detail on the hands, ears and tail was made with Milliput two-component clay. After that, I didn't sand it as much as I should have, and painted the thing with acrylic paints. This design and character is of course the property of Marvel, and this figure was made for entertaining purposes only.
